Motorized Overhead Garage Ceiling Storage in Gilbert, AZ

Sandee Crane needed some storage room in her extremely crowded garage.  However, health issues prevent her from climbing ladders to access stored items on most traditional methods.

There was zero wall space on the sides of the garage and the back wall had a large tool box along with a water softener and salt tanks.  Sandee didn’t think any shelving would be able to work on that back wall.

She thought the only viable space was above her garage doors, but was worried because she was unable to go up a ladder.  Everything she had researched seemed ineffective or unreachable to her.  She decided to call us as a last stitch effort, in hopes we could work some “storage magic” for her…  and we did just that!

The solution we came up with for her was to install four 3 x 6 motorized platform lifters above her garage door.  This gave her a total of 72 square feet of storage area! The lifters have motors that will raise and lower the platforms with whatever items you have on them at the push of a button so you never have to climb a ladder again!  The buttons are mounted at a convenient height and even come with a key so you can lock the platforms to prevent unwanted use/access to the stored items.

We also installed some inverted shelving along the back wall above the tool box and water softener.  This allowed her to stack three 17 gallon totes or two 27 gallon totes high in the space above.  She told me even though this shelf needed a ladder to access she would have someone help them with those items when needed. That she would just place the items that were long term and didn’t need to be accessed often on that shelf.
