A Family Affair: New Garage Storage in Apache Junction
On February 19, 2025, we had the pleasure of helping Javier and his family transform their garage into a highly functional and organized space. As the owner of a landscaping company, Javier knows the value of great tools—and when he saw a Monkey Bars storage system at a customer’s garage, he knew he had to have it for his own. Describing it as “the coolest looking storage system he had seen,” Javier got the customer’s glowing recommendation and wasted no time finding us online.
Ryan, the owner, estimator and installer, met with Javier the very next day for an in-person consultation. They worked together to design a custom storage solution tailored to his unique needs, budget, and garage layout. Once the design was finalized, they scheduled the installation and got to work.
For Javier’s garage, we installed an 8-foot section and a 12-foot section of Monkey Bars Shelving. These shelves are ideal for storing bulky and heavy items like plastic storage totes, luggage, and more. Each 4-foot section comes with adjustable bars and hooks, making it easy to hang items like folding chairs, bikes, scooters, and even golf clubs. If it can hang on a hook, Monkey Bars can store it!
In addition, we added two sets of our “Adjustable Shelves.” Typically, these shelves are hung beneath Monkey Bars Shelving, but Javier had other plans for the hooks and bars in that area. Instead, we hard-mounted the Adjustable Shelves to the wall off to the side. This allowed Javier to organize smaller items like paper towels, shoes, paint cans, and toys while maximizing the use of his bars and hooks for larger items. To top it off, we installed a “Yard Tool Rack” for his ladders, shop vac, shovels, and rakes—keeping all his equipment organized and off the floor.
The real fun started after the installation when Javier’s three daughters came out to explore the new setup. One of them couldn’t resist hanging from a bar as if she were on a school playground. When her sister told her to stop for fear of breaking it, we assured them the bars were incredibly strong. After their mother gave the green light, Ryan demonstrated just how sturdy they were by sitting each of the girls on top of the Monkey Bar Shelf. Their squeals of delight were contagious, and soon enough, all three of them wanted a turn. To cap it off, Ryan then climbed up to sit beside them as well, proving just how much weight these shelves can handle—not that the girls, or even Ryan at 6’1″ and 250 lbs, came even close to the 1,000-pound weight rating for each 4-foot section.
Javier was thrilled with the new storage system, and it’s safe to say his daughters were even more excited. This project was a true joy to work on—showcasing how our systems can transform a garage into an organized, durable space for the whole family to enjoy!
