A Valentine’s Day Garage Facelift: Gold Canyon Project
This past Valentine’s Day, we had the pleasure of helping Amy transform her garage in Gold Canyon into a beautiful and functional space. Recently moved from back east, Amy had been visiting Arizona for years before deciding to make it her permanent home. As part of settling into her new house, she wanted to add much-needed storage while protecting her garage floor—and making it look stunning in the process.
Amy’s storage needs were modest, so we installed an 8-foot section of Monkey Bars shelving on the right side of her garage, paired with a “Yard Tool Bar.” This setup allows her to store large, heavy, and bulky items on the shelf while neatly hanging tools like ladders, rakes, and shovels from the Yard Tool Bar. It’s a practical solution that keeps everything organized and off the floor.
When it came to the floor, Amy knew exactly what she wanted. Just like our previous customer, she wasn’t concerned about following the latest trends—she had her heart set on the classic “Rattlesnake/Saddle Tan” color blend. It’s warm, inviting tones perfectly complement Arizona’s desert landscapes, making it a timeless choice.
Our process started with prepping the concrete using a walk-behind diamond grinder. This crucial step ensures a clean, textured surface for the coating to bond with, preventing any risk of delamination. Next, we applied the polyaspartic base coat and broadcast an abundance of flakes—referred to as “to rejection”—to completely cover the surface. This technique not only enhances durability but guarantees the longest possible lifespan for the floor. Finally, we topped it all off with a second coat of UV-stable polyaspartic. The topcoat deepened the colors, added a gorgeous glossy finish, and created a floor that’s stain-proof, slip-resistant, and easy to clean. Whether it’s pressure-washed or mopped, it will look amazing for years to come.
By the end of the project, Amy’s garage was completely transformed. The Rattlesnake/Saddle Tan floor offered warmth and beauty, and the added storage gave her the organization she needed. We were thrilled to provide this thoughtful garage makeover as a Valentine’s Day gift for Amy—and it’s safe to say she’s now head over heels for her Arizona garage!
